Koh Lipe's underwater world is incredible, but the people I met left a mark on me and inspired my art.

I ran into Yaman, the owner of Pirate Tours, while I was at Elephant Bar and Restaurant. Pirate Tours is a unique boat tour that offers fishing, snorkelling, and a BBQ in the open sea of Koh Lipe's surrounding waters. Luckily, another group cancelled their trip, so he had a free spot. A couple from Malaysia who I met the night before, a girl from the Hostel where I was staying at, and her friend joined the tour on the following day. We met early in the morning prepared with snacks and a few drinks for a day on the boat. In short, the day was fantastic. We fished at two different spots using the fishing gear and snorkelling equipment provided by Yaman on the boat. It was enough for the six of us and included in the tour package. I highly recommend the boat trip with Pirate Tours while staying on this stunning island in the Andaman Sea. Yaman is an excellent and professional guide. We had a BBQ on the boat while he shared some of Koh Lipe's history, including the Ukak Lawoi, and information about Lipe's surrounding waters.The underwater world around Koh Lipe offers a wide variety of tropical fish species and many corals, the perfect place to hop on a boat and discover the ocean.
