The LO-Cal Grill in Zadar is my chosen spot for taking my taste buds on a heavenly excursion to the Balkan's famous dish Burek.
Today is one of those days! My body and soul aim for something juicy, not just any meal; it must be hot, delicious and quick. My soul screams fast food, and my body follows the command. I am kicking into those paddles, making my way up the slope.
Zadar’s suburbs are full of winding roads, and I get lost occasionally. However, the big main road looks familiar, so I take a right, leaving the roundabout behind.
There, the Lo-Cal Grill! -In the middle of a four-intersection crossroads.

Sitting outside isn’t so pleasant at this time of day. It is noon, the streets are pretty noisy and hectic, and my phone needs to be charged. I take a seat in a comfy chair inside, and the waiter urges me to order the Ćevapi Mali (a minced meat kebab).
I am looking around this sweet bar and grill, which has its own charm. The quote, “People who like to eat are always the best people,” makes me laugh, and I take the first bite. The hot minced meat tastes like heaven in a delightful cloud of bread, and an almost orgasmic yum slips over my lips - my taste buds weren’t prepared for such a delicious highlight. The waiter asks if everything is alright, and all I can communicate is, “Amazing, AMAZING!”
