The mixed media painting started as a quick sketch of a fancy Stag Beetle - the appearance and colour scheme seemed interesting. After playing around with the contour, a shot from a few days ago hit my mind. A perfect fit was the stag beetle illustration and the picture of the tree as soon as I layered them on each other. Likewise, the background of the painting is a separate shot that I am in love with due to its vibrant blue and green. The minute I saw the composition in one frame, it became my favourite piece of the Micro Series.
