Green Seasoning Tofu with Rice
OMG YUM
Green Seasoning is a typical mix of flavours in the Caribbean kitchen. It's rich in taste and spicy, often used to season seafood, and works well with spicy grilled chicken. It is safe to say that the most essential ingredients are fresh chilli, cilantro and passion.
Shopping List:
Natural Tofu, cherry tomatoes, zucchini, rice, lime
Seasoning:
Spicy chilis and mid-spicy chilis, garlic, cilantro, thyme, spring onions, ginger, pepper, salt and vegetable oil, soy sauce
For this flavourful culinary delight for your taste buds, we need to chop spicy chilis and mild-spicy chilis, garlic, cilantro, thyme, ginger and add a bit of pepper, salt and oil into a bowl and mix well.
I cut a block of tofu into relatively thin slices and put the green seasoning between each one as well on top of it, as shown in the video.
Now, we let it chill overnight and let the wonderful seasoning mixture do its magic.
We are back and just need to prepare rice and a few veggies. Simply chop zucchini and cherry tomatoes, add them to the green seasoned tofu, and put them into the oven with a few dashes of soy sauce and 1/4 lime squeezed in. Leave in the oven for 20-25 minutes at 180 degrees.
Arrange the tofu with the grilled vegetables and rice on a plate - top with chilis, and we are ready to enjoy this delicious meal, which is rich in vitamins A and C, low in calories, and an excellent source of protein and fibre with 15g of protein per 100g
Bon Appetite!
Depending on your own ability to eat spicy food and your chosen pepper, you may like to put gloves on when cutting the spicy type of chilis ;)
